Christopher
Roberts is a founding member of two of New Yorks most highly
acclaimed arts organizations, Other Pictures and adobe theatre company.
With
Other Pictures, Roberts produced ANIMA, which was hailed as a brilliant,
self-assured and completely unique masterpiece in the Independent
Film Monitor. He was a unit production manager and post-production
associate for WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE, winner of the 1996 Sundance
Film Festival. His producer credits include the Sonic Youth video
Sunday, directed by Harmony Korine and starring Macaulay Culkin,
and Morgan J. Freemans CHERRY PICKER with Janeane Garofalo.
His film work outside of Other Pictures includes POMPATUS OF LOVE
and A GOOD BABY, and the award-winning short film PRIX FIXE, directed
by Jonathan Glatzer and starring Academy Award®-nominee Doug
McGrath.
Mr.
Roberts is also the co-founder and producer for the adobe theatre
company, one of New Yorks most celebrated theater troupes.
Among adobes string of commercial and critical successes are
a modern adaptation of Orpheus; the Christmas spectaculars Poona
the Fuckdog and Other Plays for Children; The Eight; the Off Broadway
hit Duet! A Romantic Fable; and Notions in Motion, Backstages
Best Play of 1997 and adobes first Off Broadway
transfer. Other successful adobe shows include A Fish Story, Two
Men Poised, Blink of an Eye and One of Us. adobe was one of Time
Outs 98 to Watch in 98 and Mr. Roberts,
along with adobe Artistic Director Jeremy Dobrish, was on In Theater
magazines roster of Fifty Forces of Theaters Future.
Mr.
Roberts also worked on Randy Newmans Faust, and the Tony Award®-winning
musical Tommy, as well as on the latters Grammy Award-winning
cast album.
Mr.
Roberts lives in New York with his wife, Alexis, and daughter, Beatrix.
