Diamond's
film scores include The Suicide Club (Angelika Films), Heart of
the Garden (PBS), and Anima (Tangent Films), He has produced and
arranged the scores for Welcome to the Dollhouse (Sony Pictures
and Polygram Records) and Oleanna (MGM, directed and written by
David Mamet). Mr. Diamond composed the for three Felix the Cat cartoons
for Don Oriolo and for the Disney Channel movie The Smart House.
Diamond
has composed numerous chamber pieces performed by The Apple Brass
Quintet and Orchesta Nove. His Grammy nominated string quartet,
"Danza Caprichosa" was recorded by Orchesta Nova on Chesky
Records. Diamond was Staff Producer at Chesky for five years where
he produced albums for Recbecca Pigeon, Livingston Taylor and Sarah
K. among others.
Several
of his works have been used by ballet and theater companies. Leonard
& Minky, his urban ballet narrated by Mayor Ed Koch and choreographed
by John Selya, was presented at Dance Theater Workshop this past
January. In 1998, Mr. Diamond completed his fourth ballet for the
Cuban National Ballet. His Ballet Diad, choregraphed by Suki John,
was presented at the 92nd Street Y that same year.
Mr.
Diamond also composes music for theatrical productions. His work
includes writing the scores of four Theater of New City Productions:
Stone (written by Philip Courtney and directed by Eduardo Machado),
Benny's Barber Shop (written and directed by Mark Marcante), Kiss
the Cheek of the Moon (written by Yolanda Rodriguez) and his own
The Baby Boomer. Diamond also scored The Odyssey (an adaptation
by Jason Duchin).
